Personalised care, attention and nourishment - on Retreat
Hello my friend,
As we head into the second half of the year, I wanted to reach out and remind you about the Movement & Stillness Retreat planned for the 24th of October here in Thailand on the pristine island of Koh Yao Yai. Some of you have reached out with a few questions and regardless of what is going on globally, it's important to keep planning things to look forward to, we simply have to be adaptable to the waves of life, so I thought I would give a little more detail on what to expect.
Firstly, you can fly directly into Phuket from most major hubs where you then board a shuttle at the airport for a short drive to the pier, then onto a speed boat for a short trip, about 30 mins to the island where you will be collected and brought straight to the hotel to freshen up. This is all very easy, hassle free, and most Nationalities are visa free for 30 days.
We will be a small group and have the place to ourselves for the week, a private chef cooking our A la Carte meals, all dietary needs catered for! The Hotel is a hop, skip and a jump away from beach and it's not your typical touristy island vibes, only one 7 - Eleven on the whole island! Peaceful and quiet.
Our mornings will start silently, moving into the day with Qigong, meditation and breathwork. Merging into the Yoga or Movement practice, where Dane and I will offer plenty support, hands on help and personalised assistance. After breakfast, there's plenty time to chill, get a massage, read a book or explore. The afternoon offerings start with a discussion into a workshop, finishing the day with restorative practice before dinner at 6pm. We will also offer some evening meditations. All levels of experience, and all bodies are welcome.
Coming on a retreat like this is such an opportunity for you to learn, deepen your understanding of these practices and have personalised care and attention to really develop and grow from. You basically have direct access to my brain for the whole week! Also just being in a relaxed, supportive environment, chilling by the pool, sharing meals together, allows for a beautiful flow of conversation and a unique experience to unfold within in the group.
We are offering the afternoon workshops and discussions so that you can fully immerse yourself and gain valuable insight into all these tools, and how to weave them into your life when you return. Everything is optional and you are encouraged to take what is valuable and simply enjoy your time with us. It will be a lighthearted, dare I say FUN week and we are genuinely looking forward to it. Movement, stillness and everything in-between!
A few of you have asked if we will be offering another one at some point next year, this I cannot promise as it's quite a challenge for Dane and I to get our calendars to match up, (and the plan is for us to hike Kilimanjaro together next year...) things are always changing and we don't have control over too much really, so if you're on the fence about it, reach out, make the commitment to yourself and join us!
I'm looking forward to be able to share in the many practices that have been so transformative in my life over the last 10 years and that I get to have my brother (who is a very competent and knowledgeable teacher himself btw) alongside me sharing this experience. Come, relax, meet some cool people, learn some things, play!
